    George Thomas is currently working retained with a leading, global player within the packaging manufacturing market.

    We are actively recruiting a Customer Quality Engineer to drive continuous improvement activities and improve customer satisfaction across their facility.

    The role is based in the Spartanburg, SC region.

    Position Location: On-Site – Relocation support available

    As a Customer Quality Engineer, you will drive continuous improvement and implement corrective and preventative actions to enhance customer satisfaction and reduce complaints.

    What Impact Will You Make

    • Ensure a safe work environment, adhering to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) – Report food safety issues promptly.
    • Initiate corrective actions for any non-conformances
    • Participate in quality manager-assigned duties
    • Operate instruments to evaluate packaging quality
    • Conduct statistical reviews and analyses to inform improvements
    • Collaborate with the QA Manager on product holds and releases
    • Serve as backup HACCP coordinator; participate in internal and supplier audits
    • Assist in developing and maintaining food safety and quality programs
    • Organize GMP audits alongside QA and Production teams
    • Act as liaison for internal and external quality issues – Lead investigations, log complaints, and analyze root causes
    • Address supplier concerns and generate necessary claims
    • Spearhead CAPA initiatives and process improvement projects
    • Analyze quality performance data using various tools – Support Lean tool deployment (5S, cycle time studies, etc.)

    What Will Make You Stand Out

    • Minimum 3 years in Quality Assurance
    • Familiarity with injection molding processes is a plus
    • College degree in an engineering discipline or similar
    • Strong organizational skills
    • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
    • Experience with Microsoft Excel and Word
