Position – Materials Manager
Location – Greenville-Spartanburg, SC – On-site position
The Materials Manager oversees materials planning, procurement, and inventory control to ensure seamless production operations. This role is integral in maintaining efficient supply chain processes, enhancing cost-effectiveness, and meeting production schedules by coordinating with multiple departments.
This position reports to the Plant Director.
Responsibilities Include:
- Ensure a safe working environment by enforcing safety protocols.
- Ensure adherence to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) in all material handling processes.
- Develop and execute strategies for materials procurement and inventory management.
- Optimize inventory levels to support production needs while minimizing excess.
- Collaborate with suppliers to negotiate terms, monitor performance, and resolve any delivery or quality issues.
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives in inventory control and supply chain efficiency.
- Support production teams by ensuring the timely availability of materials.
- Manage material flow from suppliers to the production floor, reducing downtime due to material shortages.
- Implement cost-saving initiatives within the materials function without compromising quality.
Skills and Qualifications to be Considered for the Role:
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, or a related field.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in materials management within a manufacturing environment.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to managing supply chain challenges.
- Proficient in ERP/MRP systems and inventory management software.
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and team-building skills.
